ABOUT
Liverpool based producer Charlie Power (real name) has spent the last decade pushing the boundaries of what contemporary drum and bass can be.As a UK Arts Council funded music producer he collaborates with spiritual practitioners to create bass driven medicine music that resonates in a deeper, more primal part of the psyche. His sets are a journey through the cutting edge of syncopated dance music, layering shamanic chants over razor sharp breakbeats to create a sonic experience that feels both ancient and futuristic, cerebral yet visceral.
Following the release of his 'As Above, So Below' EP on the world renowned psybass label Shanti Planti he swiftly reached the milestone of 1 million cross platform streams, aided by extensive support from BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 1 and BBC Introducing. Promoters took notice, leading to an impressive string of headline shows across the UK and Europe including Kosmos festival in Finland and three sets at Boomtown. With an eagerly anticipated fourth EP on the horizon, Charlie Power has firmly established himself as a leading figure in the emerging genre of psychedelic drum and bass.
